Indian National Congress’s scion Rahul Gandhi is going great guns in his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
After winning hearts by playing Cricket and running with Kids, Rahul has now won the hearts of Telangana people by donning the famous Pothuraju getup.
The young leader of Congress has been touring the entire country to revive the party under the name ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and impressing the locals in almost all places. This Yatra entered Telangana recently and Rahul has participated in Telangana’s Bonal carnival.
Not stopping there, he turned as Pothuraju and whipped himself and gained the respect of the Telanganites. Pothuraju is said to be the brother of seven Goddesses forms of Mahakali in the legends of Telangana and generally, a man disguised as Pothuraju would whip himself up according to the beats of drums. It is a well-known practice during the Bonal festival and people consider it to be the most sacred form of celebration for the well-being of the region.
Other bigwigs on TPCC like Chief Revanth Reddy, MLA Jagga Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy, etc joined Rahul Gandhi and made the Yatra a success in the newly formed state of India. From being called ‘Pappu’ on the internet to appraisals, one can see the sharp change of personality in Rahul Gandhi in recent years.
His ‘Jodo Yatra’ would complete the touring in Telangana and enter Maharashtra on the 8th of this month.
