Congress former president Rahul Gandhi accused that BJP’s ‘B’ team is leading politics of Andhra Pradesh. According to him, BJP means Babu, Jagan, Pawan. Addressing an election rally in Kadapa on Saturday, supporting Congress Lok Sabha candidate YS Sharmila, he alleged that all these leaders remote control is in the hands of Prime MInister Narendra Modi.
He recalled that former chief minister of the state YS Rajasekhar Reddy had fought for the rights of the combined state in New Delhi. But, he deplored present leaders in the state who are surrendering to the Delhi leaders, as they are scared about ED and CBI cases. He made it clear that it was due to CBI and ED cases of corruption, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy was silent in Delhi and unable to speak anything against the prime minister.
Rahul Gandhi recalled that Rajasekhar Reddy was deadly against BJP’s ideology and prominent Congress leaders. His welfare schemes and good governance in the state has set a way not only for the state, but also for the entire country, he added.
He said in political relations family bondages take a key place and YSR and his father Rajiv Gandhi were like `brothers’ and he was a `father figure to me’. He said that Reddy’s Padayatra historic Padayatra inspired him to take up `Bharat Jodo Yatra’. He said that it was YSR who advised him long back to take up nation-wide Padayatra so that to know the problems of people.
He deplored the Center fulfilling none of the promises made during the period of state bifurcation. Key promises like special status, Polavaram and Kadapa Steel Plan have not been fulfilled, he said. He assured that all those promises would be fulfilled if Congress came to power at the center.
He said that a Congress government will also fulfil its promises of Rs 2 lakh loan waiver, KG to PG free education and providing 2.5 lakh jobs. He said that Rs.8,500 per month and Rs.1 lakh per year will be deposited in the accounts of poor women. Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Modi has made only a few as millionaires. But, he promised to make millions of people as millionaires.
