Raghurama Krishnam Raju Ready To Reveal The Attacker Behind His Custodial Torture

Sunday, January 5, 2025

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker and TDP MLA, Kanumuru Raghurama Krishnam Raju, has finally lodged a complaint with the Guntur police regarding an assault case, which had taken place during his CID custody time under the previous YSRCP government. The incident, while Raghurama Raju was in jail on sedition charges, had triggered a full-fledged controversy and warranted an investigation ordered by the Supreme Court.

A medical examination done at the Secunderabad Military Hospital later, following a direction from the High Court, stated that Raghurama Raju was beaten up when in custody. Having been given out on bail afterwards, with nothing to point toward the identity of the masked perpetrators, the case remains open.

After the new coalition government came to power, Raghurama Raju brought the matter into public notice by filing a formal complaint with the Guntur police, pleading with them to detect and punish those who had indulged in such an attack. The police inquiries revealed that this assault was made under the vigilance of former CID ASP Vijay Paul. On the other hand, the assailant, who had reportedly clambered upon Raghurama Raju’s chest, was unknown to everyone.

Recently, police have zeroed in on a new suspect Kamapalli Tulasi Babu and issued a notice to him to appear before the investigation. Raghurama Raju has written a letter to the SP of Prakasam district stating that he is ready to personally come for the investigation and clarify all persons responsible. The latest news has created widespread anticipation about the outcome of the investigation process, given Raghurama Raju’s high-profile position as Deputy Speaker.
