Excitement continuing in Andhra Pradesh on the outcome of polling held for the state assembly on May 13. The results only will be out on the day of counting, June 4. However, speculations are on rise on poll results.
Everyone is keen on whether Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy can retain his office or TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu will return back? Post-poll violence reflects loss of confidence in the ruling party and leaders of TDP, Jana Sena and BJP are seen jubilant with confidence they are going to form the next government.
However, hours before his departure on a foreign tour CM Jagan visiting his poll management firm I-PACK office in Vijayawada, expressed confidence that YSRCP will win more seats than the 2019 elections. More than 151 MLA seats and up to 22 MP seats are guaranteed.
Moreover, he mentioned the name of prominent political strategist Prasanth Kishor, who had earlier predicted that Jagan was going to face a disastrous defeat in the polls and said those predictions will be proved wrong.
Jagan said that the results of AP elections will be more than what Prashant Kishore achieved in the past. It may be recalled Kishor was Jagan’s poll strategist in 2019.
Two days after Jagan’s comments, Prashant Kishore once again re-asserted his predictions on AP Polls and said with a confidence that YSRCP is going to face a heavy defeat in the elections held in Andhra Pradesh.
In this regard, he made some interesting comments in an interview given to a prominent journalist. In ridiculing Jagan’s `confidence’ of winning again, he said Amit Shah, Rahul Gandhi and Tejaswi Yadav are also saying that they are going to win the elections just as CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is saying.
Stating that he has been working in elections for the last ten years, he said that he could not find any one who can admit their defeat even before results. `We can see their confidence even after the completion of four rounds of counting of votes on June 4. They continue to say they are sure of the majority in coming rounds and continue to express confidence in forming the next government”, he added.
He recalled that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu only said they are certain to come to power in AP, but Jagan said they would win more seats than the last election. “There will be no end to the discussion on these victories and defeats”, he added.
However, Prasanth Kishor said it is certain that Chandrababu Naidu will form the next government in Andhra Pradesh. At the national level, he said there is some discontent towards BJP, but there is no anger. So, he said that it is certain that BJP will return to power, but may lose some seats.
