The AP Government’s new GO on the ban of all public shows and events has affected the Opposition party TDP for the first time as the local police of Chittoor denied permission for CBN’s road show.
TDP which is in full swing regarding its ‘Idem Karma Rastraniki’ campaigning has got its first major blow in the name of the Kandukur stampede that resulted in some deaths of innocents. It was followed by the Guntur gifts distribution stampede deaths and these two incidents were cleverly used by the ruling party in banning the political parties from their road shows. After the new GO, TDP applied for permission to conduct a road show in Kuppam but the Police struck away the permissions citing the security issues in such narrow roads and corners. The shocked TDP cadre is speculated to not care about the new GO and is still looking forward to holding the meeting and seeing if Police can stop them this evening.
The new GO of banning the road shows and events was severely countered back by all the remaining political parties which condemned the notices. Opposition parties claim that they will approach the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and appeal against this GO which was completely undemocratic.
