YSRCP leader and former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, who had been absconding for two months, was finally caught by the police. The AP police arrested him on Sunday, when he was hiding in Kerala. The police arrested Kakani, who was an accused in several cases in Nellore. The police will bring him to Nellore on Monday morning.
Kakani Govardhan Reddy is A4 in the illegal Quartz mining case. In total, the police have given notices to 12 other people in this case. He also made unsuccessful attempts to get bail at the same time. When the police were trying to arrest him, he suddenly disappeared. Recently, the Supreme Court also rejected Kakani’s anticipatory bail petition.
With this, the police made a serious effort to arrest him. Finally, Kakani was caught and taken into custody. The police have also issued notices to him several times in this case. They have asked him to appear for questioning. But, Kakani went into hiding. The police issued notices to him in some other cases as well.
However, Kakani did not appear before the police for questioning. He also approached the Supreme Court to get protection from all these cases. But all his efforts were in vain. The Supreme Court also rejected Kakani’s anticipatory bail petition. With this, all his avenues were closed.
On the other hand, the police tried hard to trace Kakani, who had been in hiding for two months. In this process.. they received information that Kakani was in Kerala. The police immediately went to his place and took him into custody. For some time now, the police have been searching the houses and farmhouses of Kakani’s relatives to catch him.
He has been running away from the police without taking police notices and appearing for questioning. Police teams were dispatched to search for him after discovering that he had been absconding for some time in Hyderabad and some time in Bengaluru.
