Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi passes away at the age of 100 on December 30. Heeraben who has been suffering from age-related issues for some time breathed her last in the early hours of Friday.
Sharing the saddened news on his Social media handles, Modi dropped a picture of his mother Heeraben along with a note saying- ‘A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.’
According to the sources, PM Modi along with his brother’s paid their last respects to their mother. The final rites of Heeraben were performed at a crematorium in Gandhinagar.
Upon hearing the saddening news, many politicians and leaders from various parties took to their social media handles and expressed their shock and grief and consoled Modi and his family in the tough times.
It is known that Heeraben was admitted to a hospital at the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. She underwent treatment before passing away on Friday.
