PM Modi to launch Rs 13,430 crore key projects in Kurnool tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate and dedicate to the nation several key projects worth Rs. 13,430 crore in Kurnool on October 16 at 2.30 pm on Thursday. These projects are related to industry, power, roads, railways, defence manufacturing, petroleum and natural gas sectors.

These will contribute to the state’s infrastructure, industrial development and employment generation goals. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the “Transmission System Strengthening Project” at the Kurnool-III Pooling Station at a cost of Rs. 2,880 crore.

As part of this, a 765KV double circuit transmission line (Kurnool III-Chilakaluripet) will be set up. This will increase the transformation capacity by 6,000 MVA. Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool district and Kopparthi Industrial Area in Kadapa district.

The cost of these two projects is Rs. 4,920 crore. They are being developed jointly by NICDIT and APIIC. Once completed, they will attract an investment of Rs. 21,000 crore and create one lakh jobs.

Earlier in the day, at 11:15 am, he will participate in a puja program at Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Devasthanam in Srisailam, Nandyal district, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, and have darshan. Later, the Prime Minister will visit Shivaji Spurthi Kendra in Srisailam at 12:15 pm.

The memorial complex has a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in meditation in the middle, surrounded by models of Pratapgarh, Rajgarh, Rayagada and Shivneri forts. This memorial was built to commemorate the historical occasion of Shivaji Maharaj’s visit to Srisailam in 1677.

Similarly, the foundation stone of a six-lane greenfield highway (Rs. 960 crore) from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar in Visakhapatnam will be laid. This highway will reduce traffic congestion, increase commercial and industrial activities and employment opportunities. Similarly, six road projects worth Rs. 1,140 crore will be launched.

These include the Peeleru-Kalur four-lane road, Kadapa-Nellore border road expansion, Gudivada-Noojella railway ROB, Papagni bridge, Kanigiri bypass, and N. Gundlapalli bypass expansion. In addition to these, the foundation stone for the Kothavalasa-Vizianagaram fourth railway line and Pendurthi-Simhachalam North railway flyover projects will be laid.

Also, the completed Kothavalasa-Boddavara and Similiguda-Gorapur line doubling projects worth Rs. 1,200 crore will be dedicated to the nation. The Srikakulam-Angul natural gas pipeline (Rs. 1,730 crore) built by GAIL will be dedicated to the nation.
