YSRCP leader and former minister Perni Nani has vehemently denied allegations that he fled, calling the claims false. In a statement to the media in Tadepalli, Nani clarified that he had been in Machilipatnam from the 15th for three days and had refrained from speaking to the media on the advice of his legal counsel.
Nani criticized the accusations against him, stating that despite paying cash for the reduced rice stocks in their godown, cases were filed against him out of spite. He expressed frustration over being labeled a thief before any facts were established, noting that social media discussions had gained more attention than the police inquiry.
He further revealed that there are plans to arrest him and his son by January 2. Due to a court ruling on his bail petition scheduled for December 30, Nani said he could not comment further on the matter. He also expressed his belief that he was being targeted more than his party leader, Y.S. Jagan.
