Amaravati: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan emphasized the need to promptly initiate development works in every village, stating that the coalition government has ensured there are no funding issues for panchayats. He noted that within the first hundred days of governance, the central government allocated ₹1,987 crores from the 15th Finance Commission and ₹4,500 crores through NREGS to the state, eliminating any funding concerns. He directed officials to commence development activities in every panchayat starting October 14.
On Friday, Pawan Kalyan conducted a review meeting with officials from the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Departments. The discussion centered around the works approved in the gram sabhas and the projects to be undertaken with the funds from the 15th Finance Commission. He was informed that resolutions for employment guarantee works were passed in all 13,326 panchayats, and the details of the works and working days were provided by the officials. He also launched a website and dashboard for monitoring ongoing projects. Pawan Kalyan instructed that the commencement of works should be closely monitored and proposed to celebrate the initiation of these projects like a festival for a week starting October 14. He requested that programs related to the beginning of works in panchayats be conducted until the 20th and emphasized the inclusion of local MLAs, MPs, and MLCs as partners in these initiatives.
