Predicting that the BJP-led NDA alliance will win the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, scheduled to be held next year, AP Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan said that he will take part in the poll campaign in the state. He announced that he will play his part in the Tamil Nadu elections as an NDA partner.
Addressing a meeting held in Chennai on `One Nation- One Election’, organized by local BJP leaders, he was furious that
allegations against EVMs are meaningless. He reminded that the YSRCP won in 2019 with the same EVMs. Stating that ‘One Nation-One Election’ is a necessary change for the country, he said that its implementation is possible given the capacity of India. He cautioned that frequent elections will affect our future.
Pawan lamented that in recent times, political parties like the YSRCP have been saying that if they win the elections, it is their greatness and if they lose, they are blaming the EVMs for tampering. He said that those who display such a dual attitude according to the time are the ones opposing One Nation-One Election today.
Pawan Kalyan deplored that there is a false campaign going on about One Nation-One Election in Tamil Nadu. He recalled that Karunanidhi had once said that if there was a simultaneous election, it would be great for the country. He asked Tamil Nadu CM Stalin about how that policy would be wrong now. He advised the Tamil Nadu CM to reconsider his opposition to simultaneous polls.
He made it clear that holding simultaneous elections will not harm regional parties and the spirit of federalism. He asked the Tamil people not to be misled by a dual attitude. The meeting was held by former Telangana Governor and BJP’s One Nation-One India Tamil Nadu Coordinator Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Pawan said that even after 3 decades of leaving Tamil Nadu, this land has not left him and this Tamil land has had a great influence on him. He said that living in Chennai is the reason why Thirukkural, martial arts and cinema have had a great influence on him.
He described the land where Thiruvalluvar was born, the land where Siddhas walked, the land where Murugan was born, and the land where the great poet Subrahmanya Bharathi was born.
He described it as a holy land with thousands of temples and where his beloved MGR grew up and served. The land where Jallikattu, which is a symbol of heroism, is held, he added. He said that the lessons taught by Tamil Nadu will inspire him for the rest of his life.
