Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has clarified that forcibly imposing a language or blindly opposing it will not contribute to national and cultural unity. He emphasized that he is not against the Hindi language but opposes making it mandatory.
Refuting false narratives regarding the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Pawan Kalyan stated that the policy does not mandate Hindi and accused certain groups of misleading the public for political gains.
“Under NEP 2020, students have the freedom to learn one foreign language along with two Indian languages, including their mother tongue. Those unwilling to learn Hindi can opt for Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Sanskrit, Gujarati, Assamese, Kashmiri, Odia, Bengali, Punjabi, Sindhi, Bodo, Dogri, Konkani, Maithili, Meitei, Nepali, Santali, Urdu, or any other Indian language,” he explained.
He further stated that the multilingual policy aims to provide students with the freedom of choice, promote national unity, and preserve India’s rich linguistic diversity.
Pawan Kalyan criticized the misinterpretation of the policy for political purposes and dismissed claims that he had changed his stance. He reaffirmed that the Jana Sena Party stands firmly for language freedom and the right to education for every Indian.
