Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan strongly criticized the behavior of YSRCP members during the Governor’s address on the opening day of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly budget session. During a discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s speech in the Assembly today, he condemned the actions of the opposition, questioning their conduct in the House.
“The Honorable Governor was delivering his address, yet YSRCP leaders resorted to unruly behavior. After witnessing yesterday’s incident, I wondered how Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu managed to endure such disruptions for years,” Pawan Kalyan stated.
He further remarked that facing such situations requires immense courage and resilience. “The same YSRCP leaders who created chaos in the House—could they have dared to look the Governor in the eye when he served as a Supreme Court judge? If lawmakers themselves violate rules, what precedent does it set? The people have observed their defiance and misconduct over the past five years, which is why they have entrusted us with the responsibility of governance,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan emphasized the government’s commitment to reforms and thanked the Governor for providing direction through his speech. He reiterated that despite challenges from the previous administration, the government’s strong intent to serve the people has kept it steadfast.
He also noted that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had instructed members to treat YSRCP leaders with due respect in the first Assembly session after the elections. “We are upholding that responsibility and will continue to maintain democratic values in the House. If the Governor was inconvenienced by the YSRCP’s actions yesterday, I sincerely apologize on behalf of the government,” he stated.
