Jana Sena chief and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan called for the formation of a Sanatana Dharma Protection Board and allocation of necessary funds for its implementation. Releasing the `Varahi Declaration’ at a public meeting in Tirupati on Thursday evening, he warned that anyone who tries to harm Sanatana Dharma will be wiped out.

He made it clear that there is no need to do politics for his coalition government which has won the most assembly and parliament seats very recently and stood behind the central government and also there are no elections now.

“It has been only 100 days since coming to power. Now we are thinking about how to keep the promises made in the elections about development and welfare. I never thought of hitting the road except thinking about how to sustain a battered financial situation”, he said.

He recalled that even after more than a decade of personal criticism and insults, he did not speak out. However, he said he was forced to come out after criminal activities at Tirumala by the previous regime are exposed. “Why do we stay silent if the Kaliyuga deity is harmed?”, he asked.

Saying that we have lost our lives in the name of Sanatana Dharma, Pawan deplored said that Hindus are being silenced in the name of secularism and that pseudo-secularists are criticizing Sanatana Dharma. He lamented that there are more critics of Sanatana Dharma and Hindu Gods and pseudo secularists do not listen to the words of Islamic countries.

Stating that even if Bangladesh is declared as an Islamic state, no one will speak, he asked should we bear the pain with clenched teeth? Pawan said that the reason for this is the lack of unity in our society and that the Hindu society is divided on the basis of castes and regions.

Pawan said that the time has come for all Hindus to unite. He deplored  that we have come to a situation where we are afraid to talk about our religion. Sanatana dharma has no color and discrimination, but the discrimination was brought by Macaulay, he alleged.

Pawan said that there should be a system of verifying the quality of the items used in prasadams and that our temples should become centers of education, arts and economy, and our temples should become centers of environmental protection and welfare. He made it clear that as a Hindu he worships Sanatana Dharma and respects other religions.
