During five years of YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime, the capital region of Amaravati that was intended to develop as a major international city, turned to be a place of ghost with complete negligence of the government. With incomplete buildings, large scale bushes, poor maintenance of roads and demolishing structures reflecting scenes of graveyards.
With the change of government, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s declaration that Amaravati and Polavaram are his top priorities, the region started regaining its old glory. The very step of jungle clearance led to complete change in the landscape, bringing a new beautiful environment.
About 40 percent of the demolition works have been completed. The area of Amaravati, which has grown densely in the last five years and is full of thorns, is soon going to turn into an overgrown area. Amaravati, the neglected capital under the YCP regime, is becoming cleaner with jungle clearance.
As a part of the reconstruction, the government has started the jungle clearance activity on war foot as the first step. On the 7th of this month, Municipal Administration Minister Narayana formally started the jungle clearance work. It is aimed to complete the removal of 24,000 acres within a month.
The works started at a cost of Rs. 36.50 crores are being carried out on a war footing in the villages of the capital region. After this is completed, CRDA will focus on creating infrastructure. So far the jungle clearance works have been completed in about 10,000 acres. To complete the work quickly, the entire area was divided into 100 divisions. 250 acres divided into one division.
Along with the monopolist’s procliners, the government involved farmers also in this. The officials of CRDA have provided an opportunity to those who have machines and are interested in doing work in vibration removal. As a result, the work is progressing rapidly.
Now, all buildings are clearly visible with jungle clearance. It would have been difficult to go to these under construction as it was filled with densely grown brambles. The situation is the same in the profitable plots for the farmers. There is a situation where the boundary of someone’s plot is not known. There was a situation where no one would dare to even go into the actual layout. Now, with the jungle clearance, the Amaravati area is going to be transformed soon.
