Saturday, November 23, 2024

Amidst the parliament sessions which are all set to commence for the Monsoon season, the ruling government is all set to introduce its new bill of Uniform Civil Code. AP CM Jagan however anticipated the issues and held a special meeting with his minority leaders and ministers to take in their inputs.

CM Jaganmohan Reddy addressed them by stating that the UCC which is all set to get introduced in the two houses would seek the support of all MPs that include YSRCP. Before YSRCP takes a stand on this bill, Jagan asked his minority leaders of the party to tell their opinions. Jagan stated that the UCC bill is still under drafting and no one exactly knows the contents of it. So he asked the Muslim leaders to give their points, concerns, and regulations if they have any objections. The Chief Minister opined that if at all the daughters of Muslims need to compromise their cultures, then the Law Commission, Supreme Court, and the Central Government should hold discussions not to hurt the sentiments of any religion since India respects unity in diversity.

Prominent Muslim leaders of the YSRCP like Deputy Chief Minister Amzath Basha, Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Zakia Khanam, Minority Welfare Secretary Md. Imtiaz and other religious heads attended the meeting.
