Monday, January 6, 2025

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan attended the grand pre-release event of Ram Charan’s upcoming film Game Changer which was held in Rajahmundry on Saturday evening. He made a strong impact with his speech as he addressed the issue of ticket prices and called for a complete detachment of politics from films. He expressed his profound gratitude to several film personalities and also extended his heartfelt wishes to Game Changer unit.

Pawan Kalyan remembered stalwarts like Raghupathi Venkayya Naidu, Dada Saheb Phalke, Satyajeet Ray, BN Reddy, Nagi Reddy and Raj Kapoor and appealed that one shouldn’t forget their roots. He also paid respects to legendary Telugu actors like NTR, ANR, Krishna and Shoban Babu and hailed their contribution to Telugu cinema. He credited Megastar Chiranjeevi for being a pioneer and guiding force behind all actors like him and Ram Charan.

He thanked the government of Andhra Pradesh including Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Home Minster Anitha Vangalapudi for their support to this event and appreciated the police department for making adequate security arrangements and safety precautions.

Pawan praised director Shankar to the sky and hailed him as one of the trendsetters who gave the confidence to actors and filmmakers to achieve fame and popularity all over the globe. He recalled how he watched Shankar’s Gentleman and Premikudu in Chennai in his young days. He then revealed his association with producer Dil Raju and stated how ‘Vakeel Sahab’ helped him financially to run Janasena party.

Talking about Ram Charan, Pawan Kalyan lavished praises on his discipline, dedication and down-to-earth attitude. He appreciated his hard working nature and his great acting skills. He also commended his performance in Rangasthalam and said he deserved an award for his role.

Reacting on ticket prices, Pawan Kalyan strongly asserted the rationale behind giving hikes and permissions for special shows. He pointed that tickets are based on demand and supply concept and increasing ticket prices would only benefit the government in the form of GST.

He took potshots at political parties for putting pressure on film stars to come and beg with folded hands for getting support from the government. He categorically made it clear that the government of Andhra Pradesh won’t resort to such low standards and dictate terms to heroes and directors. He said just producers and trade bodies to approach the government for any help.

He reminded how Chandrababu Naidu supports Telugu film industry without creating any trouble despite being the Chief Minister for four times. He further said that there is no need for giving political colour to movies and appealed to keep politics away from industry. He assured that the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh will give complete support to Tollywood.
