Despite huge arrangements and Hungama, Indian Prime Minister Modi visited Visakhapatnam for the first time in his third tenure. Apart from the grand gathering of the crowd, Modi has said to be disappointed the people of Visakha and Uttarandhra hugely
Modi in his Vizag speech heaped praises on the people of AP for dealing with all the issues post-bifurcation and stated that the city of Vizag has stood one among the top five most sought-after cities for development and investments. On the contrary, Modi failed to talk or give assurance about the two long-burning issues of ‘The Vizag Steel Plant privatization ‘ and sanctioning of ‘The Special Railway Zone to Vizag. For the past decade, the employee unions of the Steel plant have been protesting against the privatization of the plant and they requested both state and central government not to do it at any cost and lose the invaluable asset of Andhra, especially Vizag. Also, the people of Uttarandhra have been waiting hard to see some development in the special railway zone of the Waltair region. Even after an official announcement from the center, there have been no developments in this issue. It is indeed a huge disappointment for AP.
One has no clue whether BJP is trying to expand the party or cutting its own branch. The ruling party YSRCP might support it for mutual gains but the voters of AP are observing everything carefully and won’t support BJP as it failed to fulfill the announced promises to the state of AP during the bifurcation
