Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and other YCP leaders have been arguing that the Land Titling Act was originally formulated by the NITI Aayog and due to pressures from the Centre only they brought this legislation here. But now the ruling party has exposed that NITI Aayog has nothing to do with this legislation and it has brought it only with ulterior motives.
NITI Aayog has clarified that they do not have even the slightest information about the law brought by AP. They do not even know how it is. As a result, it has become clear that the government advisers Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Ajeya Kallam Reddy, who tried to push this matter on the Center and Niti Aayog, along with CM Jagan, are spreading only lies.
The NITI Aayog has given an answer to the question asked under the Right to Information (RTI) about this law brought by the AP government. They said that they do not have any information regarding this.
CM Jagan and his advisors are stating that the Titling Act is in force in 24 states of the country and BJP-ruled states are also implementing it. However, the facts are different. The Jagan government sent the land titling bill to the Center for approval on July 26, 2019. But, NITI Aayog sent the draft on December 26, 2019 to states. In other words, six months before the draft came from NITI Aayog, the Jagan government passed the titling bill in the assembly and sent it to the center for consideration.
It seems that Jagan’s government has brought this law in its own way, regardless of Niti Aayog. The argument is being heard in the political circles that the YCP has planned to use that law for political purposes. Further, Chief Minister Jagan, his advisors and political strategists were in a frenzy when evil designs behind this act started being exposed during the poll campaign.
An attempt was made to counter such exposures, they propagated lies and falsehoods that the law was not brought for their own interests and that the law was made only under pressure from the Center and NITI Aayog.
Exactly a week before polling, a person named Nagilla Venkatesh sought information from Niti Aayog under RTI about the AP Land Title Act. NITI Aayog responded on 16th of this month, three days after the end of polling.
NITI Aayog Under Secretary Ravinder Kaur Bains gave a written answer to six questions. How is the AP Land Titling Act brought as per the recommendations of NITI Aayog? To the question, she said, ‘We don’t have any information’.
Should farmers take permission from the state to sell land? To the question, “We don’t know what is in the AP Land Title Act. There is no information regarding that,” said NITI Aayog. What special steps have been taken by Niti Aayog and the Center to implement the Titling Act in all the states of the country? NITI Aayog said to the question, “We have sent only a draft to the states along with the land resources department.”
