Nirmala Sitharaman provides Rs 15,000 For Capital Amaravati

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman declared in the Parliament that the Center is committed to implement the bifurcation promises to Andhra Pradesh. Presenting the Union Budget, she announced that special funds are being allocated to AP in the central budget.

She announced that special financial assistance will be provided after recognizing the need for bifurcation assurances and construction of the new capital Amaravati. She said that funds will be provided with the help of different agencies. She said that Rs. 15,000 crore are being allocated for the construction of AP capital in the current financial year.

She said that more funds will be allocated in future. Nirmala said that the Center is committed to complete the construction of Polavaram project. She announced that Polavaram is important for India’s food security and necessary funds will be allocated for the Polavaram project.  She also said that Polavaram is the lifeline of AP and it is also crucial for the country’s food security.

Apart from this, additional allocations are being made to Koparthi node in Visakhapatnam- Chennai industrial corridor and Orvakal node in Hyderabad- Bangalore corridor for industrial development in AP. Funds will be allocated for the construction of electricity, road and water facilities for industrial development in Kopparthi and Orvakallu corridors.

She also announced that additional allocations are being made to AP for this purpose. The Finance Minister also announced that special assistance will be provided for the development of backward areas in the state, namely Rayalaseema, Prakasam and North Andhra. She also said that the center is committed to the development of rural areas in the state.
