New Officer In Raghurama’s Custody Case

Sunday, December 22, 2024

In Andhra Pradesh, TDP MLA and former YSR Congress rebel MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju continues to be a controversial figure. The inquiry into the custodial violence case he filed against the previous YSR Congress government is attracting considerable attention. Currently, Guntur police are investigating the allegations he brought forward regarding mistreatment while in custody. As the investigation progresses, new and intriguing developments are emerging, keeping the public and media on edge about the unfolding situation.

In the ongoing custodial violence case related to Raghurama Krishnam Raju, several notable figures have been implicated, including former IPS officers Seetarama Jananeya, P.V. Sunil Kumar, and then-DSP Vijay Paul, along with former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan. To investigate these serious allegations, the DGP’s office has appointed SP Ramana Murthy as the lead investigator. He has already been interrogated with Vijay Paul as part of the inquiry. However, the investigation has revealed unexpected developments that have surprised Ramana Murthy,

Vijay Paul’s refusal to assist in the investigation and his failure to disclose the identities of those responsible for the custodial violence against Raghurama have created significant apprehensions. Moreover, SP Ramana Murthy is concerned that additional inquiries could lead to complications from the officials backing Paul. This scenario has forced the government to adopt a protective approach. To fully understand the circumstances surrounding the attack on Raghurama, the government has deemed it essential to make pivotal decisions. As a result, it has issued significant directives.

The government has appointed Damodar, the SP of Prakasam district, as the new investigating officer for the case. He will replace Ramana Murthy in overseeing the investigation.
