Former YSRCP Minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy was unable to get bail from Nellore district court in the quartz irregularities case. After hearing the arguments, the court adjourned this bail petition to next Monday. In addition, the police filed a petition to take Kakani into custody, for which arguments are being held.

The police department has taken the Kakani illegal mining case seriously. They are investigating the mining irregularities committed under Kakani’s leadership in Nellore district. The government initially sent Naidupeta APP Kethar Nath to Nellore as a special PP to investigate this case.

But, Guntur Joint Director of Prosecution Rajendra Prasad was given the responsibility in place of Kethar Nath on Thursday. In this order, Rajendra Prasad has reached the Nellore SC ST 5th Additional Special Court. The police, who have taken this case very seriously, have interrogated the accused and witnesses.

Many irregularities have already come to light in the police investigation. Kakani has been found making mistakes after mistakes in this case from the beginning. After the registration of this case, the former minister has been on the run from the police for almost two months.

The police have also given notices to Kakani several times in relation to the case. Finally, the police took him into custody on the outskirts of Bangalore. After the arrest, when several questions were asked regarding illegal mining, Kakani answered that he did not know and had nothing to do with it.

After interrogating many witnesses revealed during the investigation that they have committed irregularities only if Kakani said so. Nearly 61,000 metric tons of quartz were blown up with heavy explosives in a short time and exported to countries like China.

The police are already investigating which companies in China it was sent to and whose accounts they deposited the money in. If the court grants police custody today, Kakani is likely to be questioned more. Kakani is on remand in Nellore Central Jail in this case.
