Nara Lokesh’s Mega PTM Hit Guinness Book of Records

Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh said that Mega PTM (Parent- Teacher Meeting) has made it to the Guinness Book of Records. He said that it has achieved the record of being the largest PTM with the participation of 53.4 lakh parents and teachers. He revealed in a statement issued from his office that 1.5 crore people directly and indirectly attended the event.

He expressed gratitude to everyone who was a part of the Guinness record achievement. Andhra Pradesh State has set a Guinness World Record by organizing the largest Parent Teacher Meeting in the world, and this Guinness record is dedicated to teachers, Lokesh announced.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, 5.34 million (53.4 lakh) parents and teachers participated in the Mega PTM. A total of 15.2 million (1.5 crore) people, including students, alumni, school management, school management committee members, and those who participated directly and indirectly, were part of the largest Parent Teacher Meeting.

Lokesh said that he is very happy that the Mega Parent Teacher Meeting achieved the Guinness record a day before the fifth anniversary of the National Education Policy on July 29. The Minister expressed happiness that this record has been a great encouragement to the government’s efforts to bring world-class standards in government schools.

He praised the teachers for their tireless efforts to make it a grand success. He thanked the students, teachers, school education department, Samagra Shiksha, parents of students, alumni, public representatives and donors who were part of achieving this rare record.

Lokesh said that it is gratifying that Guinness World Records has recognized the efforts being made by the government and the education department for the development of government education and promoting inclusive education.

The record was officially confirmed by the Guinness World Records team after a meticulous audit of the data collected from the Mega PTM. This included three photographs, a video, the number of parents and teachers and data collected from each participating school through an independent witness through the LAAP app.

Over 40 auditors appointed by Guinness World Records analyzed data collected from 61,000 schools to determine the award. The official Guinness World Record certificate will be presented at a special event in Amaravati in the second week of August.
