Education Minister Nara Lokesh lamented that former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has become the brand ambassador of mud politics and is making baseless allegations. Jagan, who would have to fly to London sometime if there was no passport problem, was angry that he was forced to relax at Bangalore Palace and made irresponsible comments, he alleged.
He expressed his anger asking the former chief minister how he could spare a moment against chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, who has been making tireless efforts at the age of 74 to rescue people from unprecedented flood effects.
Asking who is really helping flood victims, Lokesh accused that these leaders have no history of giving at least a Pulihara packet with their own money when disasters occur and people are in trouble.
He asked is it not true that when the previous Chandrababu Naidu government allocated Rs 464 crore for modernization of Budameru and started works, which were stalled soon after change of government in the state? He made it clear that this is nothing but `Jagan Made Disaster’.
He expressed anger that the modernization and repair works have been stopped. Moreover, he alleged that YCP leaders have encroached Rs 500 crore worth 600 acres of land. He said that even if it rained in 2022, Jagan did not care and practically there was no maintenance of Budameru during the last five years and the storm water drain works were stopped in Vijayawada city.
Lokesh made it clear that they will not rest until the last flood victim is helped. Stating that relief operations are going on full scale in flood affected areas of Vijayawada, he gave instructions to the irrigation officials through drone live on the strengthening of dams.
He said that the officials should be alert as the flood water is coming from above. The minister directed the officials to ensure that there is no problem in the food and drinking water for the flood affected people.
