Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has made it clear that there will be no unilateral decisions in the coalition government and that policy decisions will be taken only through discussions and consultations. He said that he is ready to correct any mistakes made in the process of implementing reforms.
Representatives of the Engineering Colleges Management Association met with Minister Lokesh at his Undavalli residence. On this occasion, the problems faced by the colleges were brought to the attention of the minister.
Minister Lokesh suggested that the management should focus on improving the quality of engineering colleges in the state. He said that since the education system has become weak due to the negligence of the previous rulers, they are working towards transformation from the basic level.
He said that many changes have been initiated in intermediate education, which has not undergone reforms for the last ten years. Placement details should be disclosed: He said that the gross enrollment ratio should increase in all educational institutions. Lokesh clarified that their goal is to bring reforms with moral values in the education system.
The Minister said that Rs. 571.96 crore has already been released in the first tranche of Rs. 788 crore for RTF scholarships. He assured that the remaining Rs. 216.04 crore will also be released in two or three days. Minister Lokesh clarified that the details of placements in engineering colleges in the state should be informed to the government online from time to time.
Lokesh said that a one-day workshop will be organized after the MLC election code ends and everyone’s opinions will be taken to improve the quality of engineering education. The association representatives asked the minister to release the fee reimbursement money to engineering students from time to time as per the calendar.
They appealed to Minister Lokesh to revise the fees as the current fees are not affordable. MLCs Kancharla Srikanth, Bhumireddy Ramgopal Reddy, Parchuri Ashok Babu, Vepada Chiranjeevi and others participated in this meeting.
