Tuesday, January 14, 2025
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, Electronics, and Human Resource Development, Nara Lokesh, marked the Sankranti celebrations with his family in Naravaripalle, his native village. As a steadfast advocate for Mangalagiri handlooms, Lokesh once again demonstrated his support for handwoven fabrics through meaningful actions.
During the festivities, Lokesh presented a Mangalagiri handloom saree to his wife, Brahmani, as a special gift. Brahmani wore the saree with grace, becoming the highlight of the day with her traditional attire. Both Lokesh’s mother, Bhuvaneshwari, and wife, Brahmani, chose handloom clothing for the occasion, further promoting the cultural significance of Mangalagiri handlooms.
Their endorsement has been a source of pride for local weavers, who feel encouraged by the family’s ongoing support for their craftsmanship.
