Hyderabad’s Nampally Court has delivered a landmark judgment, sentencing a man to death for the murder of three individuals, including a 10-month-old infant.
The incident dates back to 2022 in Narayanaguda, where Nagulu Sailu and his wife Aarthi, who ran a flower business, often quarreled. Following repeated disputes, Aarthi decided to separate and live away from her husband. However, Sailu suspected her of being in an extramarital relationship with a man named Nagaraju. Despite warnings, Aarthi continued to stay with Nagaraju, which enraged Sailu.
In a shocking act, Sailu poured petrol on Aarthi and Nagaraju and set them on fire. The couple and a 10-month-old child sustained critical injuries and later succumbed to them.
Based on a complaint filed by Aarthi’s mother, the police arrested Sailu and his accomplice Rahul. After extensive hearings, the Nampally court pronounced its verdict on Friday. Sailu was sentenced to death for his role in the murders, while Rahul was handed life imprisonment along with a fine of ₹1,000.
