Two MPs have resigned as Rajya Sabha members and submitted their resignations to YCP, expressing their discontent over the attitude of the YCP leadership. Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, who is considered to be right hand of YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Beeda Mastana Rao have submitted their resignations to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagadeep Dhankhad.
Incidentally, both of them are prominent BC leaders. After the disastrous defeat in recent elections the flow of several leaders leaving YCP continued. Now, it takes the turn of Rajya Sabha members and many more are expected to be followed.
The names of Ayodhya Ram Reddy, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, Golla Baburao, Meda Raghunatha Reddy and R. Krishnaiah are also going round as probable Rajya Sabha members who are thinking of leaving YCP. Some of them are likely to join Jana Sena and BJP.
Mopidevi Venkata Ramana has already announced his decision to join TDP. However, Masatan Rao only said that Chandrababu Naidu was his `former boss’ and his brother Beda Ravi Chandra is still in TDP only. He said he will make a decision after consulting with his family members.
Before resigning from the party, Mopidevi strongly criticised YCP leadership and advised them to introspect for the leaving of the party leaders like him, who are loyal from the time of YS Rajasekhar Reddy. He said that there is a great difference between Rajasekhar Reddy and his son Jaganmohan Reddy.
He said that Chandrababu Naidu is working for the development of the state and is trying to put the political system and also the administration in order, which was destabilized during the previous regime. He said from the beginning he was not interested in going to the Rajya Sabha and wanted to concentrate on local issues and remain in the state. But, he alleged he was sent to Rajya Sabha by force.
He said first he will go to his constituency, meet his supporters and plan for his future political activity. But, he made it clear that he will not keep idle.
