Move To connect Amaravati capital with National Highways

The Center already started massive railway expansion plans at a cost of Rs 2,500 crore to connect Amaravati capital, and is now moving to connect with National Highways. Union Minister of State Pemmasani Chandrasekhar said that NHAI has prepared a plan for the expansion of the national highway including Amaravati.

Conducting a review on the works of National Highways at Guntur Collectorate, he said a plan has been drawn up to expand the Vinukonda- Guntur two-line route into four lines. It will be extended by another 25 kilometers and will also touch the capital Amaravati.

He expressed hope that this national highway will be very useful for the development of the capital region. He said that this highway will become another outer ring road for Guntur and will be completely constructed by NHAI, which will be completed in two years.

He advised officials to immediately take up other works like land acquisition and electricity on behalf of the state government. On the other hand, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar warns that strict action will be taken against fake farmers, who take loans on the basis of mirchi stored in cold storage’s by farmers of Guntur, Palnadu, Prakasam and Kurnool districts, without their knowledge. He made it clear that the accused will be arrested and their properties will be attached.

On the other hand, the Union Minister inspected the ongoing works at Guntur Railway Station along with MLAs Galla Madhavi and Naseer Ahmed. He expressed his great displeasure over the non-compliance of quality and standards in the works there. He questioned the officials that water is coming in the road under the bridge (RUB).

Moreover, the concerned officials were questioned about the lifting of tiles on the newly constructed platform on the west side of the railway station. Due to the rains, he deplored water coming into the RUB. While the work is still going on, the tiles have been damaged due to the arrival of the tractors, he added.

Pemmasani advised the authorities to identify the needs of passengers at Guntur railway station and prepare reports to undertake necessary works.
