MLA Velagapudi Urges Government To Reclaim Unutilized Land From Ramanaidu Studio

Saturday, March 22, 2025

The Andhra Pradesh government had previously allocated 35 acres of land in Visakhapatnam for the construction of film studios, including a grant to renowned producer Ramanaidu for establishing a studio. However, allegations have surfaced that a portion of this land was being converted into layouts for sale instead of being used for its intended purpose.

Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishnababu, who had earlier pursued legal action to halt the sale of these layouts, raised the issue in the state Assembly. He demanded that the government reclaim the land originally allotted to Ramanaidu Studio, citing its improper utilization.

According to Velagapudi, 15.17 acres of the allocated land were designated for layouts and sale under the previous administration. Emphasizing that the land was granted for film industry development, he urged the government to take appropriate action and recover the property.
