Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that the schedule for the local body elections will be released by the end of this month and Congress workers should be ready. He said that the date of the elections will be clear after discussing it in the cabinet meeting to be held on Monday.
As there is only 15 days for the local body elections, he advised the Congress ranks to be ready. He revealed that the MPTC and ZPTC elections will be held first and there will be sarpanch and municipal elections later. He said that only candidates who have a chance of winning in accordance with the reservations will be selected.
The Minister said that many welfare schemes have already been provided to the people. He said that within a week, all the eligible farmer brothers will be credited with Rythu Bharosa and bonus for fine rice will be credited in their accounts. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that there should be unity among the leaders in the villages.
He asked the leaders to give first priority to solving the public problems. If there are any minor shortcomings in the respective villages, he said that they should rectify them and prepare for the elections. He said that it is the responsibility of the local leaders to ensure the reaching of welfare schemes to the people.
Minister Ponguleti asked the Congress leaders to take the responsibility of not only sanctioning Indiramma houses to the beneficiaries in their villages, but also completing their construction.
“If the previous government gave Rs. 10,000 per acre as Rythu Bandhu, from June 16, our government will give Rs. 12,000 towards investment for every acre suitable for agriculture. If the earlier government waived off Rs. 17,000 crores of crop loans, the Indiramma government waived off Rs. 21,000 crores of loans. We have already given Rythu Bharosa twice. We will give it for the third time from tomorrow,” he added.
