YSRCP leaders have frequently criticized the TDP alliance’s Thalliki Vandanam scheme, which has drawn attention from AP Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu. Responding to allegations, he accused the “blue media” of spreading misinformation against the coalition government, claiming they falsely reported calls to halt the scheme.

Nimmala countered by showing a video during a press conference, highlighting YS Bharathi’s similar campaign gestures during the 2019 elections. He clarified that his government, in power for 30 days, is actively planning the implementation details of the Thalliki Vandanam scheme. He announced plans to celebrate it as a festival and allocate Rs. 15,000 per student, emphasizing their commitment to fulfilling promises.

Criticizing YSRCP’s credibility, Nimmala remarked that they have a history of deceiving even mothers, questioning their authority to comment on the Thalliki Vandanam scheme. He pointedly asked whether it was YSRCP that misled families with unfulfilled promises of “amma vodi” benefits, alleging that the Rs. 15,000 pledge was also reduced from 2020, impacting beneficiaries during one year of their five-year rule.
