Controversy surrounding Rushikonda where the YCP government constructed massive buildings violating environmental laws in a way subsidised after formation of the new government. However, excitement continues about how the Chandrababu Naidu government will decide the fate of those constructions there.
Municipal Administration Minister Dr P Narayana, who is now visiting Visakhapatnam said that Chandrababu Naidu will take a decision on these buildings soon. Moreover, he said that Chief Minister has focused on them.
Soon after the TDP coalition government came to power in AP, TDP MLA and former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao visited it along with the media and created a sensation by showing highly luxurious interior facilities there, which was reportedly intended for the residence of YS Jaganmohan Reddy as Chief Minister.
TDP has been opposing massive residential and official buildings on Rushikonda and accused them as `illegal constructions’ when it was in the opposition. But now, being the ruling party it is interesting to know how the government makes use of such modern buildings.
On the other hand, there are allegations that buildings have been constructed on Rushikonda without environmental clearances. There are also cases going on in the High Court. Other parties including TDP have been accusing the YCP government of misappropriating Rs.420 crores of public money towards these buildings.
There are allegations that they have misused hundreds of crores of public money and constructed seven extremely luxurious residences and office buildings. Among the buildings built on Rushikonda are three separate residential buildings. Twelve bedrooms were built in them. There are huge conference halls and home theaters. Decorative items and state-of-the-art furniture have been installed.
However, it has become interesting to know whether the TDP, which previously accused the construction of these buildings, which were built by spending so much public money, is illegal, will demolish it or use it for other purposes. In the background of Minister Narayana saying that CM Chandrababu has focused on this, it has become interesting how Chandrababu’s decision will be.
