Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan conducted an inspection of PDS rice at the Kakinada port. Following the inspection, State Minister for Civil Supplies, N. Manohar, addressed the media.
“After the coalition government took office, we have seized around 51,000 tons of rice. Among this, we identified 26,000 tons of PDS rice. Even though the goods have been seized, there are efforts by powerful individuals to release them from the courts. The coalition government is working with complete transparency, driven by a strong desire to protect public funds.
We will certainly expose the real forces behind the rice mafia. This mafia has spread from Srikakulam to Chittoor. We are formulating plans on how to combat this issue. We will ensure that the rice meant for the public reaches the people who need it,” said Minister N. Manohar.
