Minister Konda Surekha has issued a strong condemnation of BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao’s recent comments about women. Surekha criticized KTR for his public remarks that she believes demean women, stating that his behavior shows no reduction in arrogance. She called for KTR to issue a public apology to the women of Telangana, rather than making a superficial apology on social media.
In a video statement, Surekha expressed her disapproval, emphasizing that it is inappropriate for a long-serving minister to make derogatory comments about women. She also criticized KTR for making dismissive references to women, including his comments about “break dances” and “recording dances.” She highlighted that KTR, surrounded by women in his own family, should not demean women in Telangana.
Surekha noted that KTR’s remarks have caused significant distress among women in Telangana. She described the apology on social media as inadequate and criticized it as a token gesture. She pointed out that the primary audience affected includes rural women who do not have access to social media, urging KTR to offer a genuine public apology.
