Minister Kandula Durgesh made it clear that they are committed to the development of the film industry in the state and AP will soon bring a comprehensive new film policy. Film producers met the minister on Monday at the Velagapudi Secretariat. The producers presented a document prepared on the problems related to the film industry to Durgeshka.
The producers requested Minister Durgesh to arrange a meeting with CM Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan on the problems of the film industry and the development of 24 departments. On this occasion, they discussed issues such as film shootings, new film releases, new film policy and others.
Later, the minister assured that a meeting would be arranged with the CM and Deputy CM in the first or second week of September. He suggested that they should conduct a comprehensive study on the steps to be taken for the development of the film industry and come up with appropriate proposals.
Speaking on occasion, Minister Kandula Durgesh said that the film producers appreciated the cooperation and efforts being made by the coalition government for the development of the Telugu film industry. They discussed issues related to the development of the Telugu film industry in the state.
The Minister assured that the government will provide support if the state comes forward with the issue of construction of studios, dubbing theaters, re-recording theaters and other infrastructure. He said that a meeting will be organized soon and a decision will be taken on this issue, which will be the first step to bring the suggestions and recommendations suggested by the producers to the attention of the CM and Deputy CM.
Minister Durgesh said that CM Chandrababu Naidu has taken a clear decision regarding the Nandi Awards and Nandi Drama Festival, and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has given clear instructions. He clarified that Nandi Awards will definitely be given this year.
He advised the producers to think about the method in which the Nandi Awards program will be organized and decide in such a way that it will be beneficial for the film industry. He expressed hope that clarity will come on the issue of Nandi Awards in the next meeting.
