Palnadu District In-charge Minister Gottipati Ravikumar has made it clear that former AP Assembly Speaker Dr. Kodela Sivaprasada Rao will always have a rightful place in the Telugu Desam Party. He stated that he has been associated with the Telugu Desam Party for decades and his honor and etiquette will never be violated.
However, Minister Gottipati stated that there is no need to secretly install Kodela’s statue at midnight. He said that Kodela’s statue will be installed respectfully soon with all permissions. But the Minister warned that he will not tolerate any attempt by some forces to create problems on this issue.
Dr Kodela’s statue was recently installed by his fans at the government hospital in Narasaraopet. However, the municipal authorities removed the statue saying that it did not have permission. Dr. Kodela’s son Kodala Sivaramkrishna recalled on this occasion that his father had worked with dedication in the party since the founding of the TDP until he breathed his last.
He said that removing the statue of such a leader is completely unacceptable. He was furious that the authorities were overzealous in removing Kodela’s statue. Moreover, Kodela’s supporters in Palnadu district are also expressing their anger and have already protested.
On the other hand, AP Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu also expressed his anger over the removal of the statue of Kodela Sivaprasada Rao. He recalled the steps taken by Kodela in the past to establish a government hospital in Narasaraopet.
He recalled that Kodela had undertaken the construction of a large hospital with all the facilities for the people of Palnadu region with the donations brought from his friends studying in America. Initially, Kodela served as a prominent surgeon and he joined TDP responding to the call given by NT Rama Rao at the formation of the party and became its MLA in 1983.
Later, he served as a minister in the NTR and Chandrababu Naidu cabinets. Kodela Sivaprasad also served as the Chairman of the Kotappakonda Devasthanam and the Chairman of the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital. No matter where he was, his fans still say that Kodela Sivaprasad Rao brought glory to his position.
