Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu assured that there is no shortage of fertilizers in Andhra Pradesh and assured farmers not to worry. Speaking at the Vijayawada camp office, he stated that all types of fertilizers, including Urea, DAP, Potash, and Complex fertilizers, are sufficiently available in the state.
He said that daily reviews are being conducted with district collectors and agriculture officials to monitor fertilizer stocks. Supplies are being ensured according to farmers’ requirements, so that no shortage arises in the market. The minister emphasized that the government always stands by farmers, and its main goal is to see that not a single farmer suffers for shortage of Urea . Solving farmers’ problems is our top priority, he said.
He warned that strict action will be taken against dealers and distributors who attempt to create artificial shortages or cheat farmers. District collectors,Vigilance ,Ploice and agriculture department officials are working round-the-clock to resolve farmers’ issues promptly.
According to the minister, presently 82,054 metric tons of urea are available with cooperative societies, Rythu Seva Kendras, and private dealers across the state. Additionally, 29,236 metric tons are in transit from various ports and manufacturing companies. In total, 1,06,412 metric tons of urea will reach the state by the end of September from different ports and manufacturing units .
Recognizing the state’s requirements, he said that the Central Government has sanctioned another 24,894 metric tons of urea, which will arrive at Visakhapatnam Port between September 15 and 22. With these stocks, adequate urea will be available for the Kharif season, ensuring there is no shortage anywhere in the state.
The minister credited this allocation to the special efforts of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He criticized the previous YSRCP government for neglecting farmers’ welfare and leaving them to suffer due to fertilizer shortages. He praised Chandrababu Naidu as the only leader who truly understands farmers’ hardships. On behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh, Minister Atchannaidu expressed gratitude to the Central Government for its support.
