Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has been targeted after MIM leader Mubashir lodged a complaint against him. A case was filed with Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand stating Pawan Kalyan had made provocative comments about the people of Old City while conducting a recent election rally. Mubashir demanded that legal action should be initiated against the leader as his comment was ‘offensive and hurtful.’

What Sparked the Controversy?
The uproar began during an NDA election rally in Deglur, Nanded district, Maharashtra, where Pawan Kalyan reportedly stated:
“Some leaders from Hyderabad’s Old City claim they can show Hindus their power if the police shut their eyes for just 15 minutes. Do we want such governments? Should we weaken ourselves by dividing, or come together to build a stronger and brighter future?”

These comments quickly ignited backlash, with Mubashir asserting that the remarks insult the people of Hyderabad’s Old City. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he directly addressed Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand, urging swift legal action and accusing Pawan Kalyan of fostering division and disrespect through his words.

Police Response
Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand responds to the complaint, stating that the case is under review and a legal opinion sought as to how to proceed. Meanwhile, the comments have made everyone run hot with debate and criticism on social media, with so many arguments popping up over the intent and impact of Pawan Kalyan’s words.
