Anna canteens have been restored on Independence day, after a gap of five years in AP. The government, which has decided to reopen 203 Anna Canteens across the state, has reopened 100 canteens on the first day simultaneously.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, along with his wife Bhuvaneshwari renovated the Anna Canteen in Gudivada and had lunch there with his family. In this context, the Anna canteens that have reopened across the state have received a good response from the philanthropists.
There is a huge response from the public regarding donations to the re-opened Anna canteens in the state. It may be recalled that Nara Bhuvaneswari has donated Rs 1 crore for Anna Canteens ahead of their re-launch. She also promised to donate Rs 1 crore every year. Industrialists, common people and several voluntary organizations are also coming forward to contribute for this nobel initiative.
At Anna Canteens, food will be provided to all at Rs 5. On the first day, more than Rs. 2 crores of donations were received in one day. Very soon the rest of the canteens will also be made available. In this background, many people are coming forward to donate for the maintenance of these canteens.
Instead of collecting donations from them separately, the government has decided to maintain a single bank account across the state. As people and organizations from various communities are showing interest in donating, the municipal administration department looking after the management of Anna canteens has announced the bank account details for receiving donations.

SBI has said that any can send cash to IFSC code 0020541. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced the details of this bank account at the Anna Canteen opening ceremony held at Gudivada on Thursday. The CM said that the management of the canteens will be an inspiration with the participation of the people.
