Lokesh To Promote Visakha As IT Hub, Tirupati As Electronics Hub

Even before taking charge as minister of IT and Human Resources, Nara Lokesh accelerated his work. On the one hand, as an MLA he is trying to be accessible to his constituency people and initiated `Praja Darbar’.

On the other hand, he directed the officials to carry out reviews on the education and IT departments so that they could present white papers related to those departments in front of him. During the year, clear instructions were issued to the authorities regarding the provision of infrastructure in schools and the transparent transfer of teachers.

He also directed to speed up the steps to bring a new IT policy. IT Minister Lokesh advised the officials to invite reputed companies in the field of IT and electronics to invest in the state. A new IT policy will be taken soon.

Conducting a review with IT officials, he said that Visakhapatnam should be developed as an IT Hub and Tirupati as Electronic Hub. He discussed the incentives to be announced to bring in the IT industries and the dues to be paid by the government for those already established.

Lokesh directed the higher education department officials to provide the details of dues to be paid to students under various schemes and the vacancies of teachers across the state. He sought a report on admissions in government higher education institutions from 2018-19 and  till now.

The officials were directed to study the reasons for the fall in the ranks of the universities and  ordered to give a report on the controversial appointments of vice-chancellors and allegations of corruption in universities.  Lokesh directed the officials to provide complete infrastructure in government schools within a year. He inquired about the quality of mid-day meals provided to students in government schools.
