Lokesh slams Mails sent To Singapore Authorities Asking Not To Invest In AP

Thursday, December 4, 2025

Minister Nara Lokesh lamented that YSRCP leaders, who had damaged AP Brand Image during their regime, are now making all efforts to discourage investments in the state. He alleged that during their recent trip to Singapore, the government there received an email on the same issue.

It seems that the government there has inquired about Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh about it. In the past, it may be recalled that a Singapore consortium came to AP for the construction of the Amaravati capital and burned its hands.

At that time, the Chandrababu government made the Singapore consortium a partner in the construction of the core capital.

However, the YSRCP government that came after it canceled the Singapore consortium agreement because it would have brought three capitals to Amaravati. With this, it was recently decided that it would not come forward for the construction of the capital again.

In this context, Chandrababu and Lokesh visited there to make agreements so that Singapore companies could be used not for the construction of the capital, but for other institutions and government constructions in the region.

Nara Lokesh revealed that the mail was sent by a person named Murali Krishna from AP to the Singapore government. The email said that the government is changing in the state this time too, so do not enter into any agreements with the coalition government.

When he inquired about this, Lokesh said that he was an employee of a company called PLR Constructions owned by former YSRCP minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. He accused that this is criminalizing politics.

He recalled that in Tamil Nadu, DMK and AIADMK worked together for investments. In AP, however, he deplored that the YSRCP writes letters to companies to prevent investments. If letters like this are sent, who will come forward to invest?, he asked.

Meanwhile, Minister  Lokesh said that the Singapore visit was successful and agreements worth Rs 45,000 crore were signed in five years.  He said that they are not signing MoUs, but are directly implementing them. He said that ArcelorMittal has been invited to invest through Zoom call. He revealed that the country’s largest steel plant and data centers are going to be set up in AP.
