AP government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy criticized TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s stance on the volunteer system, highlighting the Election Commission’s directive barring volunteers from distributing pensions due to the election code of conduct. Sajjala accused Naidu of harboring resentment towards the system that benefits the underprivileged, prompting his indirect engagement through Citizens for Democracy.
He alleged Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar’s alignment with TDP interests, citing his involvement in local body elections and issuing orders from the TDP office. Sajjala asserted that Nimmagadda, along with two to three others, formed Citizens for Democracy and approached the Supreme Court against the volunteer system. He criticized the appointment of high-profile lawyers like Kapil Sibal, suggesting ulterior motives aimed at undermining the volunteer system in the guise of championing democracy.
