BRS executive president and former minister K T Rama Rao has expressed serious concern over the going down the image of Hyderabad city soon after Congress government formed in the state.
Recalling that this has been gaining prominence as an international city during the last 10-years of BRS regime, he wondered why now `Brand Hyderabad’ image is fastley fading out and losing its sheen. He lamented that this reflects the result of inexperienced leadership at the helm of affairs.
Pointing out the deteriorating law and order situation in the city, he recalled that several leading newspapers were flashing such headlines on their front pages and questioning the deteriorating situation, indicating that peace and security were completely out of control.
KTR wondered over the falling sense of peace and security in the lives of the city’s people in the capital city of Hyderabad due to increasing serial murders and growing interstate gangs in the city, which had been peaceful for ten years. He questioned whether the CM himself is coming to the Police Command Control Center, what is the command over policing and what is the control over the deteriorating law and order?
Taking to X, KTR said that the city’s peace and harmony, which remained unaffected for the past decade, was now threatened by increasing serial murders and the rise of inter-State gangs. Besides concerns over law and order, he said that frequent power-cuts in the city are resulting from migration of investments from here.
He also expressed concerns over the negative impact of the law and order situation, on investments and employment opportunities for the youth. He reminded that Hyderabad is not just the State capital, but also the ‘Economic Growth Engine of Telangana.’ How can you stop the progress of a city poised to compete globally? he asked.
He also highlighted the visible impact of poor governance, citing the collapse of the real estate sector and the rising crime rate in Hyderabad which was once lauded as the safest city. “People neither have peace nor security in Hyderabad. What command and control does the Chief Minister have over the police? Is this the change you want to bring about?” he asked.
