While on one side Revanth Reddy government seems to be determined to arrest BRS executive president K Taraka Rama Rao in one or other case and keep him in jail, at least till the completion of local body polls, on the other hand KTR himself said to be inviting his arrest.
It is a well known fact that KTR was in a hurry to become Chief Minister, as a successor to his father KCR, even during the BRS regime. As both YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Revanth Reddy became popular leaders after going to jail and led their respective parties in later elections to victory, KTR is also expecting that going to jail will create `public sympathy’ towards him.
That’s why many feel that every day KTR is challenging the Revanth Reddy government to arrest him. Moreover, both Congress and BJP leaders seem to be seeking KTR to be away from public presence for some time as he is turning to be champion in questioning the government on every issue.
The BJP leaders too who are more confined to media conferences, are seen worried with KTR activism fearing that he will bring life to BRS pushing away BJP to the corner from public perception. They are struggling hard to keep alive in the public eye.
Since the Revanth Reddy government was formed in the state, KTR has been criticizing the government’s failures in every aspect.
As part of that, it is known that the strategy of keeping KTR under detention for a long time has been unveiled. According to sources, KTR’s name is being mentioned in at least half a dozen issues, and that he is being accused of something that happened in them and that he is responsible for it, and that all this is being done strategically.
Phone tapping, Formula E-race, irregularities in the Dharani, Outer Ring Road tenders, etc. are being made allegations of corruption in many issues. Government officials are commenting that KTR and BRS will have to pay the price. As a continuation of these, Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy’s comments at the Seoul venue that a political bomb is going to explode soon are giving further impetus to the government conspiracy.
Meanwhile, the Lagacharla incident has become a weapon in the hands of the government. The government, which arrested former BRS MLA Patnam Narender Reddy in this case, included KTR’s name in his remand report as a matter of course.
