At a time the entire BRS leadership needed to move unitedly after losing power, the top leaders of the party both K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao seemed to be seen in frustration and adopting their own paths to keep themselves in the limelight.
Though party supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao advised both of them to keep silent for some time giving time for the Congress government to become unpopular on their own way and wait till people are distressed with their regime, these two leaders from the day one competed with each other in taking on the task of the new government.
Moreover, the series of mistakes by the Revanth Reddy government gave them full fuel to criticize the government. However, in a tactical move the Congress leaders are trying to make a difference between KTR and Harish Rao. While almost all Congress leaders are taking issue with KTR alleging his role in several corrupt and irregular practices of the previous regime, they are showing some what `sympathy’ factor towards Harish Rao.
This ‘soft attitude’ is also reflected in the attitude of KTR and Harish Rao. Two days ago, Harish Rao wrote a letter to Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on the ongoing demolitions in Telangana. In it, he alleged that a bulldozer regime is running in Telangana.
He said that a corrupt and evil regime is running with the abuse of power. He wrote the letter requesting him to advise the Telangana Chief Minister to respect the principles of natural justice and laws enshrined in the Indian Constitution, thereby saving the democracy that is being murdered in the state.
Two days after Harish wrote the letter, on Wednesday, KTR spoke out against Rahul Gandhi. He said that Rahul Gandhi gave permission for the Musi project only for the sake of money bags. He alleged that it was not Revanth Reddy who was running Hydra, but Rahul Gandhi.
He criticized Rahul Gandhi for closing the project just for the sake of money. On the one hand, Harish Rao asked Rahul Gandhi through his letter to tell CM Revanth Reddy and stop the bulldozer rule. On the other hand, KTR accused him of closing the project only for Rahul. It is not Revanth’s project. It is Rahul’s project that has gained importance. Thus both the leaders created confusion among BRS leadership.
