Hyderabad: BRS Working President and former minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for allegedly failing to deliver on his promise of ₹12,000 financial aid to auto drivers.
KTR’s remarks were prompted by the recent suicide of an auto driver in Siddipet, reportedly due to financial distress. Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), KTR expressed his disappointment over the situation.
“Is this the change you promised, Revanth? Are pesticide bottles replacing livelihoods? Has despair taken over hopeful lives? What happened to the ₹12,000 aid you assured auto drivers? Where is Rahul Gandhi’s support for them? The government has not only failed auto drivers but has also betrayed all sections of society. Telangana has been witnessing this so-called ‘change’ for the past year,” KTR posted.
The comments come amidst growing criticism of the Telangana government’s performance, with opposition leaders highlighting issues of unmet promises and governance challenges.
