“There is an attempt to politically undermine my mother Konda Surekha, who is a BC minister. All the Reddys have targeted our family,” alleged her daughter Sushmita, expressing her anger over the task force police who came to their house on Wednesday night to arrest Minister Konda Surekha’s former OSD Sumanth. She alleged that the government is conspiring to harass her mother Surekha and father Konda Murali.
“The police came to our house in Mufti. When we asked them why they came, they said that there are many charges against Sumanth (OSD Sumanth). Give us a list of all the complaints. I asked them. They left without saying anything. It is very shameful that we are facing such a situation even though they are in the government. It is shameful to do this without even considering that BC is a lady”, she deplored.
“When the OSD was removed, they did not even ask. We didn’t even ask why they should take away their dignity. But today they took away their dignity”, she added expressing her anger. She stopped the police who went to Surekha’s house in a mufti to arrest former OSD Sumanth.
Later, Sushmita told the media, “A tender was announced in the endowment department. Without the knowledge of Minister Konda Surekha, Ponguleti was given to those who wanted it. Our people also submitted a tender. When the bid was opened, it went to our people. Ponguleti called my mother and asked her to withdraw the tender. My mother said that she would not withdraw it. With this, the tender went to the Revenue Department. Now they are recalling the tender again”, Sushmitha said.
However, there is a rumor that Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has complained to the Chief Minister that Sumanth threatened the representatives of Deccan Cements Company in his constituency Huzurnagar with a revolver, and that is why the stage is being set for the arrest of the former OSD.
Sushmitha explained. “I don’t know why there was an issue with Deccan Cement. They say Sumanth was extorted. Rohin Reddy should know. Revanth Reddy should know. We didn’t meet Rohin Reddy. When Rohin Reddy came from the CMO office and called Sumanth, Sumanth went to Rohin Reddy’s office. If you want, you can check the CC cameras,” she challenged.
She said that Sumanth spoke to Deccan Cement people in Rohin Reddy’s office, in his presence, and if he threatened them, shouldn’t a case be filed against Rohan Reddy and CM Revanth Reddy as well?
“If Rahul Gandhi raises the BC slogan, they are trying to trample the BCs here. We have come from the bottom. All the Reddys are trying to trample us together. The police say that they have come in the Deccan Cement case and that Uttam Kumar Reddy has filed a complaint. When I called Uttam, he said that he did not file a complaint,” she expressed astonishment.
