Minister Konda Surekha has leveled serious allegations against BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar, accusing him of being involved in conspiracies at Gurukulas (social welfare hostels). Speaking to the media, Surekha claimed that Praveen Kumar, who had previously served as the secretary of the Gurukulas, had appointed his loyalists as staff members, which she believes led to the recent issues in these institutions.
Surekha further criticized the previous government for neglecting the welfare of students in the hostels, stating that under the current government, a tragic incident occurred in which a student died at a welfare hostel. She clarified that the student had received special medical attention but unfortunately passed away. The Minister urged that the incident should not be politicized.
She also accused the BRS government of failing to address basic issues such as poor food quality in the hostels, citing the presence of pests in the food. Surekha added that the BRS government ignored the deteriorating conditions in these institutions despite being in power.
In her remarks, Surekha took aim at KTR, suggesting that his repeated claims of going to jail for various causes, including for the welfare of tribals and the Musi River, indicated his awareness of potential legal repercussions for his actions. She questioned the BRS leadership’s failure to engage with elected representatives and address their concerns.
Concluding her statement, Surekha mocked KTR’s political rhetoric, calling it theatrical and criticizing him for avoiding real issues.
