Union Coal Minister and Telangana BJP State unit chief G Kishan Reddy has urged Chandrababu Naidu government to conduct a comprehensive probe into the allegations that animal fat was used in Tirupati Laddu prasada, during the previous YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime.
However, he appealed to political parties and charitable organisations not to sensationalise the issue which was connected with the sentiments of crores of devotees.
Expressing concern over the developments, he deplored that it was an unforgivable crime to use animal fats and fish oil in the laddu prasadam which was considered sacred. He made it clear that all those responsible for such atrocity should be identified and punished accordingly.
He also said that strict measures should be taken so that no such incidents were repeated in the future. Efforts should be made to maintain the faith of lakhs of devotees who regularly visit Lord Venkateswara Swamy, he said.
“I request the AP government to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the matter. The probe should also include the conspiracy to harm Sanatana Dharma and Hindu religious beliefs. Efforts should be made to protect the sanctity of Tirumala and the sentiments of the devotees,” he added.
Moreover, Kishan Reddy deplored that apart from this he is disturbed over the media headlines since last few years that other religions resorting to conversions and some other illegal activities in Tirupati, besides some devotees taking of alcohol and meat to Tirumala Hill, and also corruption in TTD.
The Union Minister called that lakhs of devotees not only from the Telugu states but also from abroad regularly visit Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy and pay their prayers and eat the most holy and highly praised laddu prasadam.
He expressed anger saying that using animal fats and fish oil in this laddu prasadam, which is considered so sacred, is an unforgivable crime. He asked the Andhra Pradesh state government to conduct an indepth probe into the conspiracy to harm Sanatana Dharma and Hindu religious beliefs, punish those responsible, protect the sanctity of Tirumala and protect the sentiments of the devotees.
